Bonding protocol for BioHPP – a step-by-step guide
The step-by-step bonding protocol for BioHPP…
Follow our RDT Philip Lajoie’s eight steps to ensure reliable results with BioHPP.
1. Condition the BioHPP framework Sandblast your framework with 110 μm aluminium oxide at a pressure of 2 to 3 bar. Any impurities can be removed using a clean brush, DO NOT steam clean after sandblasting.
2. Prime the framework Apply a thin, uniform layer of visio.link and cure in a light polymerisation device for 90 seconds (wavelength range 370 nm – 400 nm). The conditioned area should have a semi-matte finish after light hardening, NOT glossy.
3. Condition copings ready for luting into BioHPP framework Titanium should be sandblasted with 110μm aluminium oxide at a pressure of 3 to 4 bar. DO NOT steam clean after sandblasting.
4. Lute copings in place Use DTK-adhesive to bond the two parts together and FGP separating agent to prevent bonding to the screw threads.Apply the DTK-adhesive to the titanium coping and into the BioHPP framework, then place the frame on the titanium coping. Processing time is approximately two – three minutes at room temperature.
5. Lute milled HIPC using visio.link Apply visio.link thinly to both the BioHPP frame and HIPC (High Impact Polymer Composite) Cure in a light polymerisation device for 90 seconds and then use combo.lign to lute the HIPC teeth and BioHPP frame together. The processing time is approximately five minutes before chemical hardening. Self-curing is completed after 10 minutes. To achieve the maximum stability of combo.lign light polymerisation is recommended.
6. Opaque prepared BioHPP framework using crea.lign opaque gum Apply crea.lign gum opaque in thickness of 0.1mm and cure for 180 seconds
7. Composite base layer gum effects Use crea.lign red, lila and beige as per Red/White protocol from bredent. The colours can be further enhanced utilising the multisil fibres
8. Gum composite layering Apply a thin layer of crea.lign gum paste shade PO and smooth with a brush. Follow the Red / White aesthetic protocol from bredent to achieve a natural, life-like finish.
